KCHP is filled with great leaders of pharmacy. In this section, view acceptance speeches from the best of the best. They are sometimes funny, often very educational, and always inspirational. Our members strive to have the best pharmacy careers they can, and this section will explain why.
KCHP offers numerous educational opportunities each year, via an Annual Meeting filled with networking and CE opportunities, as well as regular District dinner meetings with a CE presentation and member discussion. Several members have also presented educational posters at our Annual Meeting.Check out our educational posters here.
My name is Kat Miller and I’m currently serving as the Director of Government Affairs for KCHP. This year, we have been working to re-structure our energy on pharmacy policy and government affairs, resulting in two committees.
Our Government Affairs Committee, chaired by Ellen Revak, will focus on issues closest to KCHP members – working with the KS BOP and KPhA to evaluate and drive practice in Kansas Pharmacy. One priority of this committee is ensuring information about statute, regulation, and practice changes is visible to the pharmacists in Kansas. Membership is open to all KCHP members and we are always looking for new members representing pharmacy sites across the state!
Clinical Skills Competition Winners
Congratulations to Asia Rujevcan and Maggie Ramirez for winning the competition held on Wednesday. Fifteen teams competed (two of them in Wichita). Asia and Maggie will be presenting at this Year's ASHP Midyear meeting (Dec 3 - 7) in Orlando.
Defining Our Strategy
If you flip to the “S” section of the Merriam-Webster Dictionary, you will find the definition of strategy. But let’s get real, you probably haven’t flipped to a section of a dictionary in a long time. So, if you Google “strategy” you will find the definition is – a careful plan or method for achieving a particular goal over a long period of time.
The goal of KCHP is our Mission Statement which is to advance public health by promoting the safe and appropriate use of medications through advocacy and education. Your Board – or Chefs– have been hard at work developing the Strategic Plan – or Menu – to achieve this goal.
I am proud to share KCHP’s new Strategic Plan which can be found on our website. Our plan is modeled after ASHP’s Strategic Plan which is divided into three categories – Our Patients, Our Members, and Our Organization. Under each category are Strategic Priorities and Goals intended to be accomplished in 3-5 years. A Board Member is assigned to each Goal.
This is where you come in. As mentioned at the Spring Meeting – YOU are the ingredients that will allow us to achieve our goals.
